Perry Mason literally gave up furthering his career for Della Street and if that’s not love I don’t know what is.
Also I find older Raymond Burr to be very attractive, and I’m sure that’s because he and Orson Welles could be twins.

Here for Della and Kerri Keane's over the top clothes. The suspects are wonderfully loathsome, and it's not a riff on KING LEAR. The sheer black lace gloves ... I had something like that in Madonna's "Dress You Up" days. Also William Katt wears the wrong clothes on jazz night - the lemon yellow sweater is daytime wear, and the grey and black print long sleeves would've been better in the club. His haircut since he starred on GREATEST AMERICAN HERO takes ten years off his winsome face. This is great fun, in other words.

Perry Mason and Della Street are a friendship goal. Relationship goal. And life goal.
Perry Mason holds a very dear place in my heart forever.
I ised to watch these tv movies every week on reruns with my grandma and it's some of my favorite memories from childhood. -

Raymond Burr spent the last eight years of his life living comfortably and working steadily in a series of Perry Mason movies for NBC. Burr, of course, played Erle Stanley Gardner’s literary lawyer for nine seasons on CBS from 1957 to 1966, in addition to 26 films between 1985 and Burr’s 1993 death at the age of 76. The first, PERRY MASON RETURNS, reunites Burr with Barbara Hale, who played secretary Della Street for all nine CBS seasons, and adds William Katt (Hale’s son with ADVENTURES OF KIT CARSON star Bill Williams) as private investigator Paul Drake Jr. (the series Drake, William Hopper, died in 1970).
The plot revolves around Della, even though Hale was recovering from a broken hip…

Donald John has returned to 1600 Penn after 4 years in the wilderness and federal court houses. In 23 Trump was indicted on "racketeering" and sent to Fulton County Jail in Atlanta where authorities snapped a menacing mug shot. This was one of the events that lead to a decisive victory in the general election, where Trump won key swing states - Georgia, Penn, Carolina, and Wisconsin. Trump supporters accused Democrats of weaponizing the courts, finding Trump guilty of falsifying records to cover up hush money for Stormy Daniels, and fed prosecution of a "U.S. Capitol attack." The Supreme Court granted the president-elect immunity. In the courts the legal sparring involved lawyers Todd Blanche and Necheles vs prosecutors Alvin Bragg…

Before Batman, Superman and Mary Poppins Perry Mason returned and a good time was had.

Not amazing, but Perry is a fucking Chad. I died laughing at the locker room scene for 15 minutes.

Review by OxfordComma ★★★
My expectations were not high, but this was entertaining enough, the caveat being that I really like the original Perry Mason. The first of the Perry Mason TV movies is filled with all sorts of 80s excesses and fashion. Of the original cast, only Raymond Burr and Barbara Hale were alive. (Richard Anderson shows up but in a different role).
I can’t say I buy Perry Mason as an appellate judge, or any judge of any kind, but there is undeniable chemistry between Burr and Hale and Hale manages to do a decent job as Della in peril.
