For vacuum applications, vented setscrews are also available with 8-32, M4 x 0.7, 1/4"-20, or M6 x 1.0 threads. Details are provided in the tables below.
Thumbscrews
Our 1/4"-20 and M6 x 1.0 thumbscrews, with either a spring-loaded tip or a vacuum-compatible finish, are a direct replacement for the thumbscrews used on our Ø1/2" post holders. The versions with spring-loaded tips are offered both individually and in packs of five.

user (posted 2024-03-13 09:23:27.643) Hi, I have a KM100 kinematic mirror mount and i lost the tiny setscrew that blocks the mirror in place, the setscrew located at the diagonal corner. I looked at the AutoCAD PDF to find its specification and i think it's the "8-32 NYLON-TIPPED SETSCREW5/64in [2.0mm] HEX" at the top left side of the CAD drawing.I have found several setscrews (SS8N013/SS8N019/SS8N038) that seem to be the one i'm looking for. But i did'nt find the correct length of the setscrew for my mirror mount anywhere so I don't know which setscrew to buy... Could you tell me which setscrew(s) work ? jdelia  (posted 2024-03-13 10:46:32.0) Thank you for contacting Thorlabs. The correct replacement locking set screw would be SS8N013, though a longer one should also work fine: https://www.thorlabs.com/thorproduct.cfm?partnumber=SS8N013 Ronald Portegies  (posted 2022-10-28 11:49:34.4) Do you have these in 30 mm length of thread? What would be a quote for 1000 pieces? cdolbashian  (posted 2022-10-31 02:10:34.0) Thank you for contacting us Ronald. We potentially can do this for you as a custom. I have connected you with our custom team who may be able to fulfill this request. user (posted 2019-12-13 09:06:42.1) Is there a part number for the nylon tipped M6 setscrew used in PMTR/M? YLohia  (posted 2019-12-13 11:21:47.0) Hello, the part number for the nylon-tipped M6 setscrew used in the PMTR/M is SS6MN8-1. This part can be offered as a special by emailing techsupport@thorlabs.com. user (posted 2019-07-25 14:23:06.89) These should absolutely NOT be hollow. We CONSISTENTLY break them in our lab, tightening them with either an Allen key or by hand. You should not make a screw that is too delicate to be tightened. llamb  (posted 2019-07-26 09:35:12.0) Thank you for your feedback. The recommended maximum torque for the TS25H is 28 in·lbs (3.2 N·m). Please note that we do not recommend using an L wrench to tighten the thumbscrew, as this may break off the screw head. The hollow design allows for the spring-loaded retractable tip to be installed, which is often helpful in final positional adjustments of posts. I have reached out to you directly to discuss your application, in case alternative parts may be better suited for your torque/locking requirements. TMORMILE  (posted 2018-03-21 09:07:15.477) Good Morning,i'm looking for part number SS4S019 but nothingcomes up when i search on your web site ?that number is called out on your part CP12Tony Mormile llamb  (posted 2018-03-22 08:53:56.0) Hello, thank you for contacting Thorlabs. While we do not offer the SS4S019 as a standard part on our website, we can offer this as a special component item. Otherwise, you can also consider the stock SS4S025, which is 1/16" longer and can also be used in the CP12. I will reach out to you directly if you are interested in a special order of the SS4S019. stepanenko  (posted 2016-02-03 09:47:44.303) Metric nylon tipped M3 and M4 set screws would be great to have. besembeson  (posted 2016-02-04 10:43:41.0) Response from Bweh at Thorlabs USA: Thanks for your feedback. I will contact you regarding providing these as special items for now. We will also look into expanding our offerings for the nylon tipped set screws. jim.jack  (posted 2014-06-26 15:27:32.553) The drawing for the SS6N013 show an 8-32 thread but the description calls for a 6-32 thread. Can you clarify please. myanakas  (posted 2014-06-30 05:00:19.0) Response from Mike at Thorlabs: The 8-32 thread callout was an error in our PDF drawing. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused. Based on this feedback, the drawing has been corrected to show that the SS6N013 has a 6-32 thread. Thank you for taking the time to point out this error. jack  (posted 2009-05-08 11:22:40.0) Reply from Jack at Thorlabs:Yes, we can offer this in metric size. a quotation has been emailed to you. loconnor  (posted 2009-05-07 09:44:46.0) Hi,Do you provide these screws in metric sizes?Liam. |
