Durango, CO Mary Ann (James) Wallace 1950 — 2024 Iowa City, IA Mary Ann (James) Wallace, 74, died peacefully on August 5, 2024. Private family services will be held at Greenmount, Cemetery in Durango, CO. Survivors include her sons, Ed (Jen) Wallace and Joe Wallace, six grandchildren, and siblings, Jo Ellen, Tom, and Louisa. Mary Ann was preceded by her parents and husband, Mike. Ruth was born on September 20, 1929, in Portales, NM, to Seward and Nellie Haga. The family moved to Bayfield, CO, in 1946 with her siblings Ruby, Faye, Melvin, Jack and Jerry. Jerry Haga from Bayfield, CO is the only surviving sibling. Ruth enjoyed school and was one of the first cheerleaders at Bayfield High School. After high school she studied bookkeeping at a junior college in Albuquerque, NM. On November 17, 1950, she married James Milton Sutherlin in Farmington, NM. Donald Lee Egger 1954 — 2024 Donald (Don) Lee Egger was surrounded by his loving family when he left this earth to join the angels. Don was born January 20, 1954, to Raymond (Chuck) Kirklin and Donna Irene (Dillon) Egger, in Durango, Colorado. Don was the great grandson of a Colorado pioneer, Daniel Egger. Early in 1972, Don met Cindy Jean Dutton, his lifelong love and companion. They were married October 17, 1972. Don and Cindy had two children, Ray Kirk and Dawna Jean. Don graduated from Durango High School in 1972. After graduating, Don enlisted in the United States Navy and served honorably for 4 years. He is a Vietnam Veteran. William "Bill" Frederick Wampner 1937 — 2024 William "Bill" Frederick Wampner peacefully passed away in his home on July 24, 2024. He touched many lives with his big heart and kind nature. He was most recently preceded in death by his beloved bride Deloris June Wampner, who passed away June 30, 2023. They were married for 63 years and are are now reunited in their heavenly home. Ralph graduated from North High School in Denver, Colorado in 1952 and enlisted in the Marines. While taking courses in engineering at the University of Denver, he became a contractor, running his own business designing and building homes and apartments in Wheatridge and Aurora Colorado. He took early retirement to move to Durango, Colorado where he began his second career in non-profit leadership and fundraising.
